Claude pays you back for context, and context is the first thing your hands ration. Say the whole brief out loud: the background, the constraint, the thing you already tried that did not work. It lands as editable text you can read back before you send.

Questions about Claude
Does a longer, messier prompt really help?
Yes, and it is the whole reason to speak instead of type. Your false start tells Claude where the boundary is. Your correction tells it your standard. The aside you nearly deleted tells it what you actually care about. Typing at about 36 words a minute forces you to cut all three before Claude ever sees them, because something has to give and it is never the main point. Speaking at about 150 keeps them, so the mess does the work.
Does it work in Claude's long messages?
Yes. Sentences land one at a time at the cursor, about two seconds after each pause, so a long brief builds up while you keep talking. Nothing rewrites itself behind you.
