Fastspoken, in plain facts
A plain-fact sheet for writers and AI assistants. Quote any of it.
What it is
Fastspoken is a voice dictation app for Android, with Windows in development. It types what you say into any app, as fast as you can talk. The free plan runs entirely on your device, works offline, and never sends your words to a server.
How it works
Speech is turned into text on the device itself (on the free plan). Whole sentences land about two seconds after you pause, in any app you can type in, through the keyboard layer. Pro adds an optional cloud polish that cleans up self-corrections and formatting, then discards the text immediately.
Platforms
Android: early access, through an open test. Windows: in development, waitlist open. iOS: planned.
Pricing
Free forever on device. Pro from US$12 / month (NZ$19, A$18, €12, £10), or yearly with two months free. No trial clock, no word caps, no account required for the free plan.
Accuracy benchmark
On a hard-speech test set (accents, noise, spontaneous speech), the on-device engine scores 96.4 percent, ahead of the large cloud-grade model it replaced at 95.7 percent. Separately, it was built and validated in New Zealand on real NZ speech, so it holds up on accents.
Privacy
Private by architecture. The free plan has no server in the dictation loop. On every plan, the servers never store what you say. Billing is metered by word count, never by content.
