Your words belong to you.
- On the free plan, your voice is turned into text on your own device. It is never sent to us. We could not read it if we wanted to.
- On any plan, our servers never store what you say. Pro's optional cloud polish reads your text, cleans it, and discards it immediately.
- We bill Pro by counting words, never by keeping them.
- We do not show ads and we do not sell your data to anyone, ever.
- Your dictionary is yours: export it any time.

1. Who we are
Fastspoken ("we", "us") is a voice dictation app operated by Fastspoken, based in New Zealand. Contact: contact@fastspoken.com.
2. The short answer to "do you have my voice?"
On the free plan, no. Speech recognition happens entirely on your device. Audio and transcripts are created and used on your device and are never transmitted to us. On the Pro plan, if you use cloud polish, the text of a dictation is sent to our server, processed to clean it up, and discarded in the same request. We do not write it to disk, we do not log it, and we do not keep it.
3. What we collect
Account data (Pro only): email address and subscription status, so we can give you the plan you paid for. Payments are handled by Stripe; we never see or store your card details.
Usage counts (Pro only): the number of words processed by cloud polish, so we can meter the plan. This is a running count, never the content of the words.
Diagnostics (opt-in): if you choose to send crash reports, we receive technical error data. This never includes your dictation text.
Website analytics: our website uses privacy-respecting, cookie-light analytics that do not profile you across the web.
4. What we never collect
Your audio. Your transcripts. Your dictation content. Your contacts or screen content. On the free plan, nothing about your dictation reaches us at all.
5. Dictation history
Off by default. If you turn on local history, transcripts are stored only on your device. They are never synced to us and never leave the device. You can clear them any time.
6. Your dictionary and settings
Your personal dictionary is yours. You can export and import it with one tap. On Pro, your dictionary and settings sync across your devices through us; that sync carries your word list and preferences, still never your dictation content, and you can turn it off.
7. Who we share data with (processors)
Only the services that run the product: Stripe (payments and billing), Supabase and Vercel (accounts, website, and hosting), Cloudflare R2 (delivering the app and its speech models), and Resend (sending account emails). Each processes only what its job requires. We never sell data and never share it for advertising.
8. Legal bases and your rights
We process account and usage data to provide the service you asked for and to meet legal and tax obligations. Under the NZ Privacy Act 2020, the GDPR, and similar laws, you can access, correct, export, or delete your data. Email contact@fastspoken.com and we will action it within the legal window. Because we hold so little, most requests are simple. You can also delete your account and all associated data yourself from the app at any time.
9. Data location and retention
Account and billing data are held in the Sydney region for as long as your account is active and as long as tax law requires after that. Dictation content is never retained, so there is nothing to delete.
10. Children
Fastspoken is not directed at children under 16.
11. Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date below and, for material changes, notify Pro users by email. We will never weaken the on-device or no-storage commitments without making it unmistakably clear.
